On June 11, voters in Surry endorsed a resolve in support of universal health care, by an 18% margin. The ballot question and vote count was:

“Shall the citizens of Surry call on the Maine Legislature to create a publicly funded healthcare plan that provides every Maine resident with comprehensive medical care?”

No:  127

SBUHCA is introduced in the Senate

Maine AllCare has been asked by One Payer States to gain House and Senate co-sponsors for the State Based Universal Health Care Act (SBUHCA).

On July 26, Senator Markey of Massachusetts introduced the Senate version of SBUHCA. Learn more here. If you haven’t already done so, please contact Senators Angus King and Susan Collins to urge them to co-sponsor.
