Thank you to Drs. Jeffrey Barkin and Daniel Bryant for their excellent opinion pieces about our health care system in recent Sunday editions. Support for Medicare for All is strong among patients as well as health care professionals. A recent Data for Progress poll finds that 65% of all Americans support a Medicare for All type of system. This includes strong majorities of Democrats and independents, and a plurality of Republicans. The polling also showed that Medicare for All remains popular even when put up against attacks.

On Nov. 3, 2025, I was part of a delegation from Maine that delivered a petition, signed by over 350 Maine people, to the offices of our members of Congress in Washington, D.C. We delivered the message that Medicare for All remains the real solution to our health care crisis. The petition thanked Rep. Chellie Pingree for her co-sponsorship of Medicare for All, and asked Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King and Rep. Jared Golden to do the same.

Please join our call, and write to your members of Congress today, asking them to co-sponsor the Medicare for All Act of 2025 (HR.3069 and S.1506).
