In an August 30 Maine Voices column in the Portland Press Herald, Debra Dunlap of Gorham notes the rapidly growing number of people turning to GoFundMe to pay for health care in the U.S., where, in contrast to other developed nations, we have yet to provide universal health care to all residents.
“Changing America’s health care system so everyone has affordable and accessible care will not be easy, but it is possible. Our elected leaders and medical organizations need to know that we expect our health care systems to reflect the shared value we practice every time we hit the “Donate” button: Everyone deserves to get the help they need.”

We need to have health care addressed not only in terms of access, but also quality. https://www.change.org/p/umaine-students-for-patient-safety
