Editor's Note: PNHP, the Physicians for National Health Program, is the lead organization in our nation that is advocating for a universal, single payer health care system. They developed clear answers to questions about the 'whys and wherefores' relating to both the economic and social merits of a single payer health care system. Maine AllCare, as the official Maine chapter of PNHP, subscribes to and in full support of these answers.
