Bangor Maine AllCare Meeting Minutes

-Maine AllCare Board meeting
Got a Stephen and Tabitha King grant for 50K, part of which is to go towards the healthcare study
They are looking for a director for MAC
-Need data entry. Data entry party at Tim Burns’ house Wednesday 4-18 6:30 PM
-Contact Maine People’s Alliance about their process for canvassing
– Our “Fix It” movie showing had a fairly good showing. People from other political interest groups attended and had good input. We hope to have a panel sometime in the future when we find enough panel members to do so. We will wait until we do before planning an event.
-Hope Festival was cancelled
-Commonground Fair is Sept 22-23. We will plan to have a table there
-Belfast chapter is having a Hootenanny May 12 6-9 PM
-Folk Festival table would cost $1200. Not sure this is a worthwhile investment
-Bangor Pride is June 23rd in downtown Bangor
-Earth Day Bangor April 21st
-Guidelines for contacting businesses are needed. There are some materials on the Maine AllCare site. Individually we will try to talk to friends who run small businesses in Bangor (Valentines/Bangor Wine and Cheese)
about healthcare and how best to approach such businesses for support for our cause.
-We need a point contact for businesses and for locally advertised events.
-Are we still pursuing a referendum in 2020. If so we need a 5013C entity to promote it
-Treasurer’s report $192.35 in the account
-Next meetings: May 12 June 9 At Bagel Central, 33 Central Street, Bangor from 8:30 – 10 AM
